NHS Pay in Scotland – UNISON members vote to accept a three-year deal

UNISON members in Scotland have voted overwhelmingly to accept a three-year pay deal for NHS staff.

GMB was the only NHS trade union not to back the pay and reform package negotiated by the NHS Staff Council earlier this year.

In a press statement released on Tuesday 14 August the GMB union say ‘this is not an end to the matter ’ despite their decision not to take formal action. UNISON is awaiting confirmation of how this position will affect GMBs involvement in implementing the deal and participation in the groups set up to negotiate the ‘spin off’ elements of the package, such as the Band 1-2 re-banding project; negotiation of apprenticeship pay rates; and management of the voluntary section 2 switch for ambulance members.
